Information to look for in a spending record
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Purpose | A clear description of the activity or expense being funded. |
| Amount and currency | The actual asset spent, with fees distinguished where applicable. |
| Date and reference | A reporting date and transaction ID connecting the explanation to a public transfer. |
| Supporting information | Documentation explaining the expense without exposing private account information. |
| Payment status | A planned allocation is not the same as a completed payment. |
Transfers are not always expenses
Moving funds between wallets may be an internal transfer. A change in an on-chain balance alone is not sufficient to calculate spending or determine its purpose.
For public-record availability, see Transparency. For payment references, see Transactions.
